VOLUNTEER AT THE CATCADE
As we get settled into our new building we are accepting volunteer applications again. Please apply to the volunteer area that most suits your skills. After you apply our Volunteer Coordinator will be in touch via email with any questions or to go over the rest of the application process.
VOLUNTEER IN THE LOUNGE
Just because we are a cat cafe does not mean you will get to pet cats all day. if Socializing cats is what you’re interested in, please book a reservation. We are a rescue first and foremost and volunteers spend most of their shift cleaning and scooping poops. It is rare you will get to pet cats during your volunteer shift.
OUr volunteers spend their time scooping litter boxes, wIPING DOWN SURFACES WITH MULTIPLE CLEANERS, SWEEPING HOURLY, MAINTAINING A CLEAN LOUNGE ENVIRONMENT, AND SOMETIMES HELPING WITH ADMIN TASKS. WE EXPECT RELIABILITY, punctuality, AND THE ABILITY TO MULTITASK. While most of the work is relatively easy, it does not make it less important.
You can apply to volunteer with us using the button below. Volunteers must be over 21.
We will be in touch with applicants when we are able to schedule training shifts. We are always accepting volunteer applications but we rarely have open volunteer spots.

TRANSPORT
Helping with transports doesn’t always mean you have to drive to a different state to pick up cats. Sometimes it is just driving a cat back and forth to a vet appointment, picking up multiples cats from the spay/neuter clinic, or picking up a brand new bunch of kitties from a county shelter.
Transporting cats is always helpful. Helping with transports includes picking up cats from a specifIc location and bringing them to the Cade, driving cats to and from surgery or other vet appointments. You must have your own vehicle, valid insurance, and flexible availability.
Cats must remain in their carriers the entire time during transport.
You can apply to volunteer to do transports with us using the button below.

HELPING WITH INTAKE
We are not accepting intake volunteers at the moment.
We are now accepting volunteers to work alongside us and help us with intake. Intake is when we get a group of new cats in from county shelters and have to do exams, medications, and get them ready to head to their foster home. Sometimes this may just be 1 or 2 cats or as many as 20 cats at once.
This is something that includes but is not limited to: assisting with giving cats oral medications, such as pills and liquid meds, injectable medications, subq fluids, trimming nails, holding cats, and giving them baths. Helping with intake is unpredictable and can sometimes take just one hour or up to four hours. You will likely touch cat excrement, potentially get scratched, work with cats who may have fleas, work around disinfectants and other chemicals, and otherwise see cats who are not in their best health. If you are squeamish, this is not for you. These are not adoption ready cats and are just entering our program for the first time.
Intake is not glamorous. It is the back end side of what we do, the actual cat rescue side of things. This is not about petting cats so if you just want to pet cats, that’s great but it would be more helpful if you just paid for a visit to our lounge.
