Foster-to-Adopt

So You’re thinking aBout adopting but want to foster the cat first…this is the program for you!

Our Foster-to-Adopt Program is available for cats currently not in the lounge. These cats are available to be fostered before their adoption is finalized. Since you are not able to meet the kitty first, we offer a foster period of seven days for you to see if it's a good fit. You will take them home and get to know their personality over the week. If after seven days all is going well, we would finalize the adoption paperwork.

The cats in the lounge at The Catcade are not available for Foster-to-Adopt. Only the cats listed on this page are available for FTA.

If there is a cat below that interests you, please email Christine at adopt(at)thecatcade.org

Amelie - female, 3 years old *adoption pending

Oh you want a princess? Meet Amelie. Her forever home must note that she needs to have boxes at all times, she demands it! She also requires being told how perfect, stunning, and beautiful she is at all times. While a little shy at first, once she’s comfortable, she’s happy to make your lap her throne. Her weakness is catnip toys and she’ll abandon his royal title to get down and dirty with catnip toys. In her spare time, she’s a vocal artist and likes to hear herself sing!

Medical costs: $100

Heidi - female, 3 years old

Heidi reminds me of me, always looking mildly concerned and unable to hid any emotions from her face. It’s not her fault the sideeye comes so naturally, it’s a burden few of us must carry. Also like me though, she really just wants love and attention and acceptance. So let her sit in your lap and tell her how perfect she is and she’ll reward you with kisses (tbd if I’ll do the same). Heidi enjoys pets and affection and has a medium amount of energy.

Heidi’s ideal home would be one where she can be the only cat in the home.

Medical costs: $100

Cayde - male, 2 years old

It’s hard to show just how large this boy is, but at almost 16 lbs, you can be sure he’s a hefty house panther. Not only is he a big boi, but he also has a big personality! He loves to play with just about any toy he can. Cayde is not only beautiful, but smart too! He’s currently learning clicker training in his foster home and is able to sit, high-five, and low-five already. With more time, who knows what he might learn!? Thankfully, being food motivated is helpful.

Cayde’s ideal home would be one where he is the only cat in the home.

Medical costs: $100

Arryn (female, 8 months old) and Riordan (male, 8 months old)

This adventurous duo is ready for their forever home. They are outgoing, friendly, would make a great addition to almost any home. Riordan has a cloudy eye likely due to a previous eye infection that resulted in corneal scarring. There is no treatment needed and he’s totally happy and healthy!

Arryn and Riordan must be adopted together.

Medical costs: $100 each

Bottom Buns - male, 6 months old

This sweet little guy is Bottom Buns, who you might notice looks a liiiiittle bit different than your average cat. He came to us with a severe case of frostbite, which meant he had to have most of his ears and tail removed. Bottom Buns doesn’t let this slow him down, and he loves hanging out and playing with the cats in his foster home. He’s a little shy when it comes to people, but once he warms up he will happily take a nap in your lap or on your bed.

Bottom Buns would do best in a quiet home with another active cat (or two, or three!).

Medical costs: $100

Henry - male, 10 years old

This lovely gentleman is Henry. He’s a new member of the “One Eyeball Club”, doesn’t he look so dashing? He’s working on his pirate costume for Halloween already, so please only apply if you’re willing to commit to the pirate costume bit (just kidding, he isn’t that picky). Henry enjoys the finer things in life like kicker toys, a soft blanket, and a window view.

Henry had his eye removed due to cancer. Thankfully the cancer was only found in the one eye and did not spread. Because of this, he is more susceptible to cancer than the average kitty.

Henry would be best in a home where he is the only cat.

Medical costs: $100

Merlot - male, 4 years old

Is your quiet home just a bit too cold at night? Do you wish that they made space heaters that you didn’t have to plug in to the wall? Well, Merlot is probably your man. This dude is going to require a spot in bed snuggled right up next to you. You’ll also never have to brush your teeth alone ever again if he comes home with you; I’ve heard he’s an expert bathroom attendant. Merlot would love nothing more than to hang out with you while you do whatever it is you need to do all day.

Merlot’s ideal home would be a quieter home where he is the only cat, or has a chill cat friend.
