Foster-to-Adopt
So You’re thinking aBout adopting but want to foster the cat first…this is the program for you!
Our Foster-to-Adopt Program is available for cats currently not in the lounge. These cats are available to be fostered before their adoption is finalized. Since you are not able to meet the kitty first, we offer a foster period of seven days for you to see if it's a good fit. You will take them home and get to know their personality over the week. If after seven days all is going well, we would finalize the adoption paperwork.
The cats in the lounge at The Catcade are not available for Foster-to-Adopt. Only the cats listed on this page are available for FTA.
If there is a cat below that interests you, please email Christine at adopt(at)thecatcade.org
Dove - female, 3 years old
Are you looking for someone to stare at you admirably while you go about your day? Dove is your girl. She will situate herself within 2 feet of you so that you can get your work done, but also ensure that she receives lots of compliments through the day. Dove is a fantastic chaser of other cats and loves to run around with her resident foster friends. Other favorite activities of hers include playing on cat trees and being princess of the house. Dove is a smart girl and will claim all the other beds not in use, they are hers now. She enjoys pets, chin scratches, and plenty of attention from her humans.
Dove’s ideal home would have another playful cat in the home.

Miss Peaches - female, 1.5 years old *adoption pending
She’s beauty, she’s grace, she’s zoomies and snuggles, this gal is something special. Miss Peaches has the sweetest chirp, but don’t let that fool you, she’s a top notch huntress (aka she thinks she’s sneaky but you’ll see her coming). She also has the most rare talent I’ve ever heard of… she will sometimes pee in a human toilet. I don’t know how and I don’t recommend ever making cats do something they don’t want to, but she seems to sometimes prefer to relieve herself in the human toilet. It’s wild. She has a lot of energy and would thrive in a home with a few humans.
Miss Peaches’ ideal home would have no other cats but plenty of play time and snuggle time. And access to a toilet with the seat up.
Medical cost: $100

Any and all cat toys? You betcha. Charlie has a heart of gold of energy of a 6 year old human child on pop rocks. He also loves being around people, loves attention, and enjoys a good cuddle session.
Charlie’s ideal home would have at least one other playful cats in the home and humans to spoil him.

Dallas loves affection and attention and will seek out your adoration.
Dallas would do well with someone who is able to provide a lot of enrichment or another cat friend who is playful and tolerant.

Rose’s ideal home would be fully of love and adoration.

Winter - female, 2 years old
Winter is coming. And she is CUTE! Does that Game of Thrones line still hold any pop culture relevance? Hard to say. What isn’t hard, is falling in love with this girl. As you can see from her ridiculousy cute face, she’s impossible to resist. She loves to play fetch (sometimes even at 3 am) and will insist on sleeping in your bed. She has a lot of energy and sometimes needs help redirecting her play energy into toys.
Winter’s ideal home would be either a home where someone can give her a lot of attention or a cat friend who can keep up with her energy.
Medical costs: $150
Ember (orange) & Cloak (brown tabby) - males, 3 years old
2 big boys, 1 small shelf, 44 perfect toe beans. Yep, that’s right, a side of extra toes each for these boys! Not to be confused with a pterodactyl, these polydactyl boys are straight up wonderful. They are the best of friends, Cloak leans on Ember (literally and metaphorically) for support since he is a bit more of a shy boy. They both love attention, playing with one another, and generally just enjoying all life has to offer.
These guys are easy going and would do well in just about any home that is patient as Cloak gets comfortable.
Medical costs: $100 each

He would love to be in a home with someone who can tell him how handsome he is.
Bob could do well in a home with or without other cat friends.

Baja Blast’s ideal home would be a quieter home with or without other cats.
Medical costs: $100
Linda Jean - female, 1 year old - FIV+
Who’s that beautiful girl? Could she be any cuter? (no.) Meet mama Jean, creator of 7 ridiculously cute baby Jeans. She is a little lover who enjoys butt smacks, all the attention, and yelling at you when you don’t give her attention. She’s a wonderful mix of playful and snuggly, and will demand pets often (listen, she deserves them!!).
In shelters, FIV+ cats are usually some of the first to be euthanized. It’s a devastating fact and a big reason why we take so many into our program. FIV is Feline Immunodeficiency Virus and is not nearly as scary as it was once made out to be. Cats that are FIV+ go on to live just as wonderful and happy long lives as other cats.
Medical costs: $100
