If you are interested in adopting a cat

Please do not apply if you have not visited our cat lounge yet. We are not able to review generic applications that do not list an adoptable cat name on them. Please know we are currently receiving an overwhelming amount of applications and it may take 7 days or longer to hear back from an adoption counselor.

We do not do same day adoptions.

If you have already applied in the past with us and would like to reapply for another adoptable cat, please send an email to adopt@thecatcade.org.

*Keep in mind that we base cats needing another furry friend in the home on personality not age. Our adoption fees are based on age but that does not mean cats over 6 months old can always be adopted alone.*

Medical costs are $100 per cat over 6 months and $150 per cat under 6 months. These fees help us cover the cost that it takes to get these cats all of their vetting. Each adoptable cat is spayed or neutered, vaccinated with age appropriate vaccines, tested for FIV and Felv, microchipped, and given flea preventative and at least one round of dewormer.

Adoption requirements: If you are interested in adopting you must be prepared prior to filling out an application. If you rent, you must have landlord approval or a lease that shows cats are allowed. If you own please have ID and/or a utility bill to confirm address. Adopters must be 21 years and older, show proof of US residency, and all roommates and people that live in the home must give consent to having the cat(s) in the home. Please be prepared to show current and up-to-date vet records for any animals in the home.

If/when you fill out an application it does not guarantee that you will be approved to adopt. We will review applications and have interviews with potential adopters to make sure cats are placed into the best home for the cat.
